Attitude of Gratitude – YES it WORKS!!!

Being on this dream chasing adventure has taught me many things.  Today I wanted to share with you some things I have learned about GRATITUDE.

You have probably heard the quote  “it’s not happy people who are grateful, it’s grateful people who are happy!”


This became self-evident in my life when a mentor of mine suggested I start a gratitude journal.  The idea being that every day at a time of your choice – I choose just before I go to bed each night – you take a few minutes and note down 10 things that you are grateful for that day.  It doesn’t have to be 10 every day, you just do your best to think of as many as you can ?

They can be small moments, such as “I’m grateful that the sun was shining on me as I sat in my favourite café to write this post” right through to big things, such as “I’m grateful that my brother came through his latest cancer check clear and healthy!”

You can probably guess the impact that this habit will have on your life but here are some things I have noticed:

1)   Even when you’re having a tough or challenging day, there are STILL things to be thankful for, you just have to LOOK for them

2)   The habit of focusing on gratitude every day helps you appreciate things in the MOMENT.

3)   Focusing on all the good things in your life actually brings MORE good things into your life – I PROMISE!

4)   The quote is TRUE – it’s grateful people who are HAPPY – so if you want more happiness in your life, why not start a GRATITUDE journal? – you will not regret it! ?
